Job Site Analysis (JSA)
JSA’s are conducted on site with a client's employer or,
where applicable, with a potential employer to identify the
essential tasks and the physical, psychological and cognitive
requirements of those tasks as they pertain to a client's
occupation. The assessment includes a comprehensive interview
with the supervisor; observations of a worker; as well as,
measurement of postural dynamics, weights and frequency of
movements. Sources such as the Dictionary of Occupational Titles
(DOT) and/or the Canadian Classification and Dictionary of
Occupations (CCDO) may also be used to complement the analysis.
Occupational Therapists are trained to identify environmental
hazards, ergonomic risk factors, equipment modifications and
other contributing factors to the physical demands an individual
experiences in the work environment. When performing a Job
Demands Analysis, the assessor will also identify reasonable job
modification(s) and accommodation(s) and will discuss these with
the employer. The JSA allows for direct comparison to FAE test
results.
