Work Accommodation Strategies
Based on an analysis of the worker profile (functional
ability) and work environment (i.e., essential tasks, and
physical and cognitive demands) strategies are developed in
order to coordinate reintegration into gainful employment or
maintain the ability to participate in a current employment
position. Strategies may include a gradual increase of work
hours and tasks to ensure a successful and durable return to
work following injury or illness; work pacing strategies (i.e.,
work rotation); modification of duties; and ergonomic
strategies.
